Principal Investigator / Visiting Scientist — Uncovering Chondrichthyes Diversity in the Galápagos Islands

Led field research using National Geographic Exploration Technology Lab deep-sea camera systems deployed from National Geographic Islander II to investigate deep-water sharks, rays and chimaeras in the Galápagos Marine Reserve. The project brings together the National Geographic Society Exploration Technology Lab, Lindblad Expeditions, Galápagos Science Center and Galápagos National Park Directorate, combining exploration technology, local scientific expertise and conservation priorities. Trained an early career Ecuadorian scientist.

Contributor to an expert-led workshop and report coordinated by the Coral Research & Development Accelerator Platform (CORDAP), outlining global knowledge gaps and a roadmap for funding cold-water coral research and restoration efforts.
